Job Title: Payroll Deductions Specialist

North Carolina Jobs is seeking a highly skilled Payroll Deductions Specialist to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized individual to process payroll deductions for our high-volume payroll operation. The successful candidate will have experience in payroll deduction practices and proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Excel & Word.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurately and timely process payroll deduction data through a computerized payroll system.
  • Schedule must permit meeting all payroll deduction deadlines.
  • Responsible for payroll deductions such as health insurance, garnishments, credit union, self-elected cafeteria benefits, 401k/453/457 plans, disability income, and direct deposits.
  • Maintain reliability and confidentiality of records.
  • Provide outstanding customer support through verbal, written, and face-to-face communications.
Requirements:
  • Experience in and knowledge of payroll deduction practices required.
  • Experience in NC public school payroll highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Excel & Word.
  • High school diploma earned at a regionally accredited school required; Associate Degree in accounting or business related field preferred.
Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. The ability to lift up to 15 pounds routinely and 30 pounds occasionally is required.
