About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Hire Military Talent. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related components.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform Routine Maintenance Tasks: Conduct oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks on diesel engines and vehicles.
  2. Diagnose and Repair Mechanical Issues: Identify and troubleshoot problems with engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, and other components.
  3. Conduct Thorough Inspections: Inspect vehicles to identify potential issues and recommend repairs.
  4. Utilize Diagnostic Equipment: Use computerized systems and technical manuals to accurately diagnose and resolve problems.
  5. Replace or Repair Faulty Parts: Replace or repair faulty parts, such as fuel injectors, turbochargers, alternators, and starter motors.
  6. Maintain Accurate Records: Keep accurate records of all repairs, services, and parts used.
  7. Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Developments: Attend training sessions and workshops to stay current with advancements in diesel engine technology and industry standards.
  8. Adhere to Safety Protocols: Maintain a clean and organized work environment and adhere to safety protocols.
  9. Collaborate with Team Members: Work collaboratively with team members to achieve goals and objectives.
Requirements
  1. High School Diploma or Equivalent: Completion of a certified diesel mechanic program or equivalent work experience.
  2. Strong Mechanical Aptitude: Strong understanding of diesel engine systems, including fuel injection, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  3. Diagnostic Skills: Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, computerized systems, and technical manuals to troubleshoot and repair diesel engines.
  4. Safety Knowledge: Solid knowledge of safety protocols and practices related to working with diesel-powered vehicles.
  5. Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  6. Communication Skills: Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Work Ethic: Strong work ethic and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
