Diesel Mechanic Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic Technician to join our team at Ryder System. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our fleet of heavy-duty vehicles.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, brake and tire work, and other preventative maintenance procedures.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer systems when applicable.
- Identify root causes of basic failures and perform repairs as required.
- Replace defective components as instructed.
- Perform facility maintenance duties, including cleaning and organization of the shop area.
- Interact with customers and drivers to determine the nature of complaints and assign tasks accordingly.
- Utilize key functions of the Shop Management System and electronic documentation available.
- Work in accordance with all federal and corporate compliance guidelines, including safety and regulatory requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Vocational or technical certification, post-secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred.
- Basic tools required.
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines.
- Two years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience in required experience preferred.
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred.
- This position requires the ability to drive Ryder vehicles and obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire.
