Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Service Representative to join our team at Patient First. As a key member of our front office staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with registration and check-in processes, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive experience.
  • Escalate emergency situations to the appropriate personnel, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Provide accurate and timely information to patients regarding billing policies, insurance coverage, and other financial matters.
  • Register patients efficiently, verifying demographic, health, and insurance information to ensure accurate billing and care delivery.
  • Answer billing and insurance questions, providing itemized statements and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Collect payments and issue receipts, maintaining accurate cash handling and accounting procedures.
  • Process discharges, completing all necessary tasks to ensure a smooth transition of care.
  • Perform cash management duties, including counting and reconciling cash at the end of each shift.
  • Receive, send, and distribute correspondence as directed, maintaining confidentiality and discretion.
  • Filing and scanning medical documents and office forms as directed, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Complete assigned checklists and Policy Manager tasks, demonstrating a commitment to quality and excellence.
  • Answer incoming calls, distributing messages and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Assist with other assignments as directed, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing priorities.
Requirements
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Basic typing skills required.
  • Minimum one year of clerical experience preferred.
  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for up to 7 hours at a time.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Excellent visual, verbal, written, and typed communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
