Role SummaryThe Field Service Representatives (FSRs) will collaborate as a cohesive team of technicians, providing support to our Government client in the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the MWR Global Internet Connect Program (ICP) platform across designated operational areas. This role demands availability around the clock, necessitating overseas deployment. The primary focus will be in designated regions with frequent travel throughout Southwest Asia, and potential assignments may extend to Europe, Africa, and South America.
The MWR ICP is a comprehensive satellite and terrestrial communications initiative designed to deliver Internet access to deployed US service members, support personnel, and contractors in various locations worldwide. We are looking for FSRs who can effectively navigate the deployed environment, troubleshoot service issues, perform maintenance, and install, configure, and test VSAT and terrestrial internet services in military operational zones.
General Qualifications- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Capability to work both collaboratively and independently.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in delivering presentations and briefings as required.
- Execute installation, maintenance, and repair of deployed systems.
- Manage inventory, testing, and modification of equipment as necessary.
- Establish cable networks, including VSAT, baseband, LAN, and wireless devices in accordance with established standards and approved specifications.
- Troubleshoot and repair VSAT, LAN, and wireless hardware.
- Be available 24/7 to provide onsite support and respond to service calls using various modes of transportation.
- Facilitate the introduction of new MWR ICP technologies and equipment.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
- Familiarity with VSAT communication equipment.
- Understanding of IP fundamentals, Cisco routing, and firewall technologies.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft suite applications.
- Basic knowledge of network protocols, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Basic computer troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently or under general supervision.
- Experience with iDirect modems.
- Knowledge of in-theatre air travel procedures.
- Background in military signal or telecommunications.
- Understanding of military organizations and operations.
- Prior overseas work experience is advantageous.
- Familiarity with the Visa process for in-theater locations.
- Frequent travel by military air, ground convoys, and other military transportation methods, which may involve delays and exposure to challenging environments.
- Ability to live and work in a deployed contingency environment with shared facilities.
- Understanding of Army/Marine Corps logistics policies and procedures.
- Must possess a valid United States Passport.
- Must hold a valid United States Driver's License in good standing.
