- Review banquet event orders (BEOs) to confirm all details are accurate.
- Inspect room configurations to ensure compliance with BEO specifications and maintain cleanliness in all public areas.
- Engage with event representatives, providing guidance on communication throughout the event.
- Relay any changes in BEOs to the catering department and relevant teams.
- Coordinate with banquet personnel regarding setups, modifications, and schedules for all events.
- Assess staffing requirements for upcoming events and adjust schedules as necessary.
- Step in as a banquet server when required, managing setup, guest interactions, and event breakdown.
- Conduct final inspections of banquet areas to ensure all equipment is returned and spaces are clean.
- Ensure banquet checks are signed by clients and compile all checks for the end of the day.
- Provide coaching and feedback to team members to improve performance and address any necessary disciplinary actions.
- Possess knowledge of the menu for each event, including major ingredients and preparation methods.
- Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
- Follow established safety and security protocols.
- Be familiar with fire prevention and emergency response procedures.
- Utilize protective equipment as required.
- Report any unsafe conditions to a supervisor.
- Document accidents, injuries, and property damage to a supervisor.
- Ensure a safe working environment by complying with all safety regulations.
- Maintain a professional appearance as outlined in the team member handbook.
- Assist fellow banquet staff as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Minimum of two years experience in hotel banquet service.
- Possession of a valid Food Handler Card.
- Ability to manage paperwork efficiently.
- Basic understanding of food and beverage service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
- Familiarity with appropriate table settings and service equipment.
- Ability to comprehend verbal instructions in English from supervisors and guests.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Capability to transport items weighing up to 30 lbs. in crowded environments throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift a maximum of thirty (30) pounds.
- Capacity to maneuver or push carts weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Frequent engagement in physical activities such as twisting, bending, standing, and walking.
