Job Summary

The HR Business Partner will serve as a strategic consultant, bridging the gap between HR functions and stakeholder objectives. This role will collaborate with management and employees to promote positive employee relations, enhance work relationships, foster career development, lead succession planning, boost morale, and increase productivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead from the Middle:
    • Collaborate and work closely with managers to provide day-to-day HR guidance.
    • Understand their needs and challenges and offer tailored solutions.
  • Promote Employee Development:
    • Partner with management and employees to promote positive employee relations.
    • Enhance work relationships, foster career development, lead succession planning, boost morale, and increase productivity.
  • Monitor Workforce Planning:
    • Partner with leadership and Talent Acquisition to provide full-cycle support to meet staffing plans.
    • Initiate requisitions, participate in interviews, create and deliver job offers, onboard new hires, and present new hire orientation.
  • Analyze Trends and Metrics:
    • Dive into HR data to identify trends, track performance, and help the business make informed decisions.
    • Use metrics to forecast and drive improvements.
  • Resolve Complex Employee Relations Issues:
    • Tackle sensitive matters, such as conflicts, allegations, conduct concerns, and disciplinary actions.
    • Strive for fair resolutions that maintain a respectful work environment and foster positive employee relations.
  • Suggest New HR Strategies:
    • Innovate and propose fresh approaches to improve processes, decrease span, improve employee experiences, and further BWX Technologies' mission.
  • Provide HR Policy Guidance:
    • Interpret and communicate HR policies to employees at all levels of the organization.
    • Ensure compliance and consistency across the site.

    • Demonstrated understanding of business data and HR key performance indicators.
    • Comfortable and effective in performing data analysis and utilizing data storytelling to support metric-driven decision-making.
  • Talent Management:
    • Ability to convert HR knowledge and experiences into HR best practices.
    • Technological savviness that allows for innovative approaches to everyday problems.
    • Expertise in fostering positive employee experiences and identifying and developing key talent.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a closely related field.
  • 5 years of progressive experience as a human resource professional.
  • Prior experience leading continuous improvement and/or operational excellence initiatives.
  • Ability to travel and complete scheduled short-term assignments at assigned facilities/locations across the U.S.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance.
Preferred Experience
  • 10 years of progressive experience as a human resource professional.
  • Prior experience in human resources working with Department of Energy (DOE) government contracts.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification.
Compensation

The base salary range for this position in Virginia at the start of employment is expected to be between $63,000 and $99,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate.
