Job Summary

BWC Terminals is seeking a highly skilled Terminal Manager to oversee the daily operations of our terminal. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, customers, productivity, and safety of the terminal.

Key Responsibilities
  • Terminal Operations: Direct and manage terminal operations, maintenance, and shipping and receiving. Identify improvement opportunities in processes to ensure objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Cost Control: Implement cost-effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages, and salaries. Manage capital asset maintenance.
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish and monitor overall terminal performance for operations and quality of standards.
  • Staff Management: Supervise and coordinate the activities of the terminal staff, including time off requests. Responsible for staff recruitment, performance management, compensation, and corrective action.
  • Customer Service: Plan and coordinate customer service activities in consultation with sales and operations management.
  • Cost Optimization: Control and minimize labor overtime, repair expenses, and utilities.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain existing terminal equipment and monitor its condition to ensure it remains in top condition. Manage repairs or replacement recommendations for the equipment when needed.
  • Leadership and Training: Provide leadership and training to accomplish company goals and objectives.
  • Employee Engagement: Incorporate employee organization and terminal cleanliness among personnel.
  • Terminal Supervision: Provide direction, development, and leadership to terminal supervisors.
  • Process Improvement: Observe and make recommendations regarding the efficiency of the terminal's processes.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Develop, implement, and manage mandatory regulatory records. Ensure that all record keeping follows regulations and laws.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Oversee the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program for terminal operating equipment. Ensure that equipment is repaired and maintained.
  • HSSE: Assist the HSSE representative in developing, implementing, and enforcing company policies and procedures to promote and ensure a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.
  • Payroll and Benefits: Work with Terminal personnel to satisfy all company and payroll record timekeeping initiatives. Research any discrepancies and ensure everyone is following company policy and procedures.
  • Human Resources: Work with Human Resources to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and/or bargaining unit contracts as well as local, state, and federal laws.
  • Budgeting: Prepare the operational budget. Monitor the budget and ensure expenditures are within budget parameters.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Experience: Five years of terminal management or related terminal, refinery, or tank vessel experience. Terminal Manager experience highly preferred.
  • Skills: Knowledge of and skill in operating equipment. Proficient in Microsoft Office software. Project management knowledge. TWIC eligibility. Ability to use hand/power tools. Ability to wear safety equipment, including safety shoes, goggles, gloves, and similar equipment.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, bend, stoop, walk, and climb. Frequently required to kneel, bend, crawl, crouch, push, pull, lift, or twist. Occasionally required to lift or exert force of more than 50 pounds.
