Job Summary:

The Ophthalmic Photographer will perform a variety of diagnostic imaging tests, including visual field testing, IOL Master, OPD, OCT, GDX, refractometry, and other specialized procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ophthalmic anatomy and medical terminology, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing diagnostic imaging tests, including visual field testing, IOL Master, OPD, OCT, GDX, refractometry, and other specialized procedures
  • Operating and maintaining medical imaging equipment, including cameras, scanners, and software
  • Preparing patients for imaging tests, including explaining procedures and obtaining informed consent
  • Processing and archiving images, including labeling and storing them in a secure and organized manner
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, including ophthalmologists, optometrists, and nurses, to ensure accurate and timely diagnosis and treatment

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Three years of experience in ophthalmic photography or a related field; COA level competency experience required
  • Knowledge of ophthalmic and medical terminology, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work calmly and respond courteously under pressure; collaborate and accept direction
  • Able to think critically, manage multiple assignments effectively, and work well under pressure

Licensures and Certifications:

  • Valid California Driver's license required
  • Ophthalmic Photographer's Society Membership preferred
