Responsibilities:

The Ophthalmic Photographer will be responsible for:

  • Working with patient's insurance coverage
  • Knowledge of ophthalmic anatomy
  • Telephone etiquette
  • Automatic and manual lensometry
  • Keratometry
  • Preparing patients for special testing
  • Photography archiving systems
  • Computerized medical records
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A High School diploma or GED
  • A Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Three years ophthalmic photography experience
  • COA level competency
Skills:

The Ophthalmic Photographer should have:

  • Knowledge of ophthalmic and medical terminology
  • Ability to keyboard 40 wpm
  • Ability to use a computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position
  • Operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment
  • Ability to work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure
  • Collaborate and accept direction
  • Think critically
  • Manage multiple assignments effectively
  • Organize and prioritize workload
  • Work well under pressure

  • Recall information with accuracy

Licensures and Certifications:

The Ophthalmic Photographer should have:

  • A valid California Driver's license
  • Ophthalmic Photographer's Society Membership preferred
