Position Overview:

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) plays a crucial and strategic role at Northwest Center, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and collaborating closely with the Board of Directors. The CFO will be key in advancing our strategic growth initiatives, overseeing capital investments, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This role demands a leader who can optimize resources to fulfill Northwest Center's strategic goals, attract and nurture top talent, and establish a solid financial framework.

Compensation: $137,205,766.00

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Communication:

  • Foster strong relationships with division leaders, front-line staff, the Executive team, the Board, and key external stakeholders, including donors and corporate advisors.
  • Provide guidance in managing complex strategic transitions such as mergers, acquisitions, and strategic alliances.

Team Management & Development:

  • Directly oversee the Controller and manage the broader accounting and finance teams.
  • Develop an organizational and staffing plan to support ongoing growth across various business and mission segments.
  • Attract, cultivate, and retain talent to strengthen the financial infrastructure.

Financial Strategy & Operations:

  • Oversee the short and long-term capital structure to finance the organization's strategy, sustain growth, and manage debt and equity financing.
  • Ensure effective management of cash and liquidity concerning working capital requirements.
  • Guarantee operational excellence in financial systems and reporting.
  • Translate long-term strategies into actionable and measurable objectives.
  • Engage in strategic planning, growth initiatives, and financial forecasting.

Risk & Compliance Management:

  • Identify, mitigate, and monitor business risks, integrating risk management processes into operational management.
  • Oversee additional activities such as managing legal documents and real estate negotiations.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree (required); Advanced Degree preferred
  • CPA or equivalent; CMA preferred

Experience:

  • 15 – 20 years of experience in Accounting with progressively complex management roles, including experience as a CFO

Demonstrable Skills:

  • Exceptional communication skills tailored to Board, Executive Team, managers, and staff.
  • Experience in diverse business environments and continuous process improvements.
  • Proven ability to build cohesive and highly productive teams.
  • Strong leadership in financial administration with a deep understanding of financial accounting systems, audits, budgeting, and GAAP accounting.
  • Capability to operate at both granular and strategic levels.
