About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Sales Specialist to join our team at OTC Industrial Technologies. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for engaging with key decision makers in the Oil & Gas, Power, and Chemical industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with rotating equipment engineers and maintenance professionals to troubleshoot and solve problems
  • Deliver product presentations and demonstrations to enhance customer knowledge and awareness
  • Establish rapport and participate in joint sales calls with manufacturers represented by AirTech
  • Attend sales meetings and stay up-to-date on industry trends
  • Maintain high knowledge level of products, processes, and the latest industry trends
  • Entertain customers and/or vendors to strengthen relationships
  • Provide start-up service and support when required
  • Perform failure analysis of mechanical equipment and report findings
  • Manage equipment performance improvement programs, report actions and results in quarterly meetings
  • Travel within specified Western Ohio territory
Requirements
  • A comprehensive five years of industrial technology sales experience or a minimum of two years of experience in compressed air equipment sales with a college degree preferred
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and CRM software (Selltis a plus)
  • Valid drivers' license with clean driving record
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Influential customer service skills with a talent for building relationships
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Possess an energetic, outgoing, and friendly demeanor
  • Accomplished at working both independently and as an active team member
  • Customer-centric focus (internal and external customers)
  • Comfortable making cold calls and engaging in conversations
  • Mechanical aptitude including an understanding of rotating equipment, fabrication/manufacturing of equipment and machine shop processes preferred
  • Ability to interpret industry standards and engineering specifications (API and ASME)
  • Prior plant experience is preferred
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team
Physical Demands/Environment

Must be able to work in an office and industrial setting as required by the customer

Must be able to travel via plane as needed; and drive a vehicle for up to 2-3 hours at a time and up to 6 hours per day

Must be able to communicate via telephone and electronic devices in the workplace

Ability to walk for long stretches, climb stairs regularly, and climb ladders occasionally while at industrial customer sites

Adapt to various climates, including high temperatures (ambient and hot process environments) and outdoor conditions such as direct sunlight and extreme high or low temperatures depending on the season

Wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE), which includes hard hats, safety glasses, and proper attire, which could include long sleeves even when temperatures are high

Occasional lifting of loads up to 50 lbs

Must climb up and down into the back of a truck

Work in an industrial environment, which includes the presence of various chemicals, hot piping/vessels, steam, cooking apparatuses, livestock, livestock and food processing, dust, and industrial/municipal wastewater, while wearing proper PPE
