Job Summary
The Senior Water/Wastewater Project Engineer serves as the primary technical resource for projects, possessing comprehensive knowledge of construction documents, subcontracts, and purchase orders. This role is pivotal in addressing inquiries related to drawings, specifications, and change orders while fostering professional relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers. The position offers a clear progression through three levels: Step I for entry-level candidates, Step II for those with three years of experience, and the Senior level for individuals with over six years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Water/Wastewater Project Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Understanding and implementing the components of the project management plan (PMP), ensuring successful project execution through effective scope, procurement, environmental, time, financial, quality, safety, and risk management.
  • Developing and integrating procurement schedules with project timelines, ensuring compliance with contract documents through thorough review of submittals.
  • Administering budgeting processes and controlling costs to complete projects within approved budgets while demonstrating business acumen.
  • Maintaining accurate 'As-built' contract documents and compiling close-out requirements, including operation and maintenance manuals and warranties.
  • Participating in concrete form design and equipment selection, as well as conducting takeoffs for various project components.

Team Leadership
Leading the project team to ensure relentless execution of project goals, you will:

  • Prepare and maintain quantity reporting mechanisms, coordinating agendas and minutes for meetings, and maintaining project logs.
  • Review and prepare change orders, managing the change order log and ensuring timely distribution of executed documents.
  • Identify potential claims and mitigate their effects promptly.

Minimum Job Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • A four-year degree in a construction-related field or equivalent technical training and experience, with a minimum of three to four years in construction engineering.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.

Physical Requirements
Candidates must be able to:

  • Wear personal protective equipment as required.
  • Engage in physical activities such as reaching, stooping, kneeling, and climbing.
  • Utilize electronic devices for communication and comply with safety standards.
