Job Summary:

We are on the lookout for a skilled Project Engineer with expertise in Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant construction to join our team in Tennessee. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background with a General Contractor, having experience in both self-performing and subcontracting construction or rehabilitation of existing water and wastewater treatment facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Project Manager, Superintendent, Foreman, Owner, Engineer, and other stakeholders from the field office.
  • Prepare and review submittals, RFIs (Requests for Information), and coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of field operations, ideally with a background in heavy civil construction.
  • Manage contractor documentation, including tracking logs, deliverables, project files (both hard and electronic), and action items.
  • Coordinate and participate in progress and construction meetings.
  • Create and distribute meeting agendas, notes, and spreadsheets for O&M (Operations and Maintenance) manuals, spare parts, training, testing, and supporting documentation.
  • Draft notices and agendas for pre-construction meetings.
  • Log and disseminate project information and pre-construction submittals from project participants.
  • Ensure contractor compliance with design documents, contract drawings, and specifications.
Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in a consulting engineering environment focused on water and wastewater disciplines, including utility design work such as piping, treatment plants, tanks, and pump stations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conducting effective client presentations and preparing detailed reports.
  • Experience collaborating with municipal clients.
  • Progressive experience in planning, design, permitting, and construction administration of infrastructure improvements.
  • Physical capability to perform fieldwork.
  • A detail-oriented team player with strong organizational and planning skills.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required; a degree from a two or four-year college or technical school with a focus on civil engineering, construction, or water/wastewater management is preferred.
  • Experience in the administration of water/wastewater facilities is essential.
