Role Overview:
The Industrial Water Treatment and Optimization (IWTO) team at Arcadis is seeking a seasoned Industrial Water Biological Process Engineer. This role focuses on delivering technical projects while contributing to the expansion of our industrial water sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the principal process engineer on industrial water and wastewater initiatives.
- Oversee the creation of process design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and calculations for diverse industrial water projects.
- Present technical findings at industry conferences.
Detailed Duties:
- Lead technical efforts on industrial water and wastewater treatment projects.
- Collaborate with various disciplines to ensure project execution.
- Select appropriate technologies and design concepts for industrial water and wastewater treatment facilities.
- Produce comprehensive process descriptions and related design documents.
- Manage condition assessments for biological wastewater system assets.
- Develop cost estimates and project timelines, ensuring tasks are completed within budget and on schedule.
- Foster and maintain client relationships, mentoring junior engineers and technical staff.
- Ensure adherence to Arcadis quality and safety standards.
- Travel as necessary for client engagements and project assessments (up to 25%).
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of various industrial wastewater treatment systems.
- Proven track record in managing and delivering industrial water projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong collaborative skills in a multidisciplinary project environment.
- Ability to identify business development opportunities and formulate proposals.
- Experience in mentoring early-career and mid-level engineers.
- Willingness to travel across North America.
Minimum Requirements:
- Master’s degree in engineering or a related field, focusing on biological wastewater treatment.
- At least 10 years of experience in industrial wastewater management.
- Professional Engineer registration in one or more states.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 15 years of relevant experience.
- Familiarity with biological wastewater process modeling and specialized software.
- Comprehensive understanding of mechanical design processes including pump sizing and hydraulics.
