Key Responsibilities- Develop systems for the safe, efficient, and effective delivery of potable water and/or wastewater to end users, including projects related to pumping and storage.
- Support senior engineering staff in the design of water and/or wastewater treatment facilities.
- Evaluate and assess drainage systems for stormwater management or floodplain safety, designing necessary conveyance systems to protect the environment and public safety.
- Determine the requirements for drinking water and/or wastewater treatment systems based on current and anticipated population and development trends; conduct feasibility assessments for public utility infrastructure projects.
- Analyze various water and/or wastewater treatment technologies, providing recommendations for the most effective solutions.
- Design and create specifications for diverse pumping and force main systems.
- Collaborate with contractors and governmental bodies regarding the execution of assigned projects.
- Ensure that design and equipment specifications adhere to relevant local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
- Conduct feasibility studies and related analyses regarding the collection, treatment, or distribution of water or wastewater, and prepare comprehensive technical reports.
- Offer clients technical guidance and expertise on water resource issues.
- Perform cost-benefit analyses for assigned projects.
- Work closely with the marketing team on proposals, presentations, and project scoping.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Licensed Professional Engineer.
- Experience in designing water treatment facilities, either partially or fully.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in public infrastructure projects within the Water Resources sector.
- Experience in project and/or client management is essential.
- Ability to mentor junior staff while actively participating in the design and detailing of various water projects of differing technical complexities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Exceptional verbal, written, interpersonal, and time management skills.
- Strong initiative and urgency to meet client deadlines.
