Role Summary:

The Project Manager will report directly to the account directors and collaborate with creative teams, marketers, and clients. This position is located in O'ahu.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Relationship Management: The Project Manager will cultivate and maintain client relationships while overseeing collaboration with the Marketing and/or Communications teams to ensure outstanding service delivery.
  • Project Oversight: The Project Manager will take charge of managing projects for assigned clients, which includes assisting with project timelines, budgets, and vendor coordination. This role requires working closely with other team members and vendors to uphold the highest quality standards and meet or exceed project objectives.
  • Content Development: The Project Manager will supervise content creation by both internal teams and external partners from Hawaii and beyond.
  • Media Relations: The Project Manager will also handle media relations, ensuring effective communication with news outlets.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Hawaiian Studies, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in native Hawaiian organizations or similar fields.
  • Experience working with media is essential.
  • Agency experience is preferred.
  • Experience in crisis communications is advantageous.
  • A proven track record of increasing responsibility and success in previous roles.

Technical Proficiencies:

  • Strong understanding of Hawaiian history, culture, values, and 'ōlelo Hawai'i.
  • Excellent command of written English, including grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite (Drive, Sheets, Docs, Gmail).
  • Experienced in media relations across various platforms in Hawaii.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
  • Knowledge of project management tools like Asana and Workamajig.
