Position: Project Manager - Native Hawaiian Programs

The Project Manager will collaborate closely with account directors and coordinate with creative teams, marketers, and clients. This role focuses on three primary areas: Client Engagement, Project Coordination, and Content Oversight.

  • Client Engagement: The Project Manager will cultivate client relationships and oversee collaborative efforts with the Marketing and Communications teams to ensure outstanding service delivery.
  • Project Coordination: This role involves managing projects for assigned clients, including developing project timelines, budgets, and vendor management. The Project Manager will liaise with internal teams and external vendors to uphold the highest quality standards and achieve established goals.
  • Content Oversight: The Project Manager will supervise content creation by both internal teams and external partners, ensuring alignment with project objectives.

Essential Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Hawaiian Studies, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in native Hawaiian organizations or similar fields.
  • Experience working with media is essential.
  • Agency experience is preferred.
  • Experience in crisis communications is advantageous.
  • A proven track record of increasing responsibilities and achievements in previous roles.

Technical Proficiencies:

  • Strong understanding of Hawaiian history, culture, values, and language.
  • Excellent command of written English, including grammar, punctuation, and style.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace (Drive, Sheets, Docs, Gmail).
  • Experience with media relations across various platforms in Hawaii.
  • Familiarity with social media channels such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
  • Experience using project management tools like Asana and Workamajig.
