We are seeking a highly skilled Vehicle Engineering Program Management Manager to join our team at Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) in Superior Township, MI.

As a Manager at HATCI, you will lead a team responsible for overseeing the development of vehicle programs. This role involves ensuring program targets are met and projects are delivered on time. You will also be in charge of supervising a team of analysts, providing guidance and support for their professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Mentor a Team: Drive high performance by leading and mentoring a team of program analysts.
  • Resolve Engineering Challenges: Analyze market trends to support program success and resolve engineering challenges.
  • Present Reports: Regularly present reports to upper management to ensure transparency and progress.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Define project goals and timelines by collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Monitor Program Progress: Develop strategies to mitigate risks and optimize program outcomes by monitoring program progress.
  • Implement Process Enhancements: Optimize program outcomes by implementing process enhancements.
  • Ensure Effective Communication: Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure successful program execution.
  • Manage Program Budgets: Manage program budgets and resource allocation to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Promote a Collaborative Team Environment: Foster a collaborative team environment focused on continuous learning and growth.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience Managing Teams: Proven experience managing teams and leading program management initiatives.
  • Program Management Experience: Experience in program management, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Master's Degree: A Master's degree in a related field, such as engineering or business administration.
  • Professional Certifications: Professional certifications in program management, such as PMP or PRINCE2.
  • Travel Requirements: May require travel to support program execution and team collaboration.

Requirements:

  • Engineering Degree: A degree in engineering, such as mechanical engineering or electrical engineering.
  • 10+ Years of Experience: 10+ years of overall experience, with 2-5 years in vehicle program management and 7-10+ years in the automotive industry.
  • Prior Leadership Experience: Prior leadership experience, with a proven track record in program management.
  • Strong Leadership and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong leadership and problem-solving skills, with excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Passion for Innovation and Learning: A passion for innovation and learning, with a willingness to adapt to changing program requirements.
