We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Senior Vehicle Safety Program Manager at Hyundai Motor America. In this critical role, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating field actions related to safety defects and/or possible noncompliance with the requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS).
Key Responsibilities- Lead and coordinate Hyundai groups to remedy safety issues by coordinating and launching field actions to customers.
- Develop innovative technical approaches to process field action activities.
- Assist in the development of the Global Field Action Management System to handle all activities involving the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).
- Monitor field action completion rates.
- Assist in the development of advanced outreach strategies to ensure completion rates.
- Develop a suite of completion tracking tools.
- Work with suppliers to ensure part supply availability and set up fair share allocation of parts plans for each region.
- Prepare materials for senior leaders to keep them informed of progress and challenges.
- Five or more years of relevant work experience in the automotive industry, including vehicle safety, design, testing, field reliability evaluation, and service.
- Experience in conducting timely field action launches to address equipment failure modes.
- Three or more years of experience in the automotive business, including vehicle safety, design, testing, field reliability evaluation, and service.
- Automotive assembly plant or component manufacturing experience a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as engineering or business.
- Master's degree in a related field a plus.
