Mental Health Court Program Manager

Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Mental Health Court Team Lead to join our team at River Edge Behavioral Health. This role will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to participants in the Misdemeanor Mental Health Court program, including assessment, treatment planning, coordination with jail and behavioral health staff, supervision of case managers, therapy provision, staff training, team meeting facilitation, crisis management, and community service connection.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough interviews with potential participants while incarcerated or after release to assess their needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Complete bio-psychosocial assessments, LS/CMI Risk Needs Assessments, and ASAM Treatment Needs Assessment to inform treatment decisions and discharge plans.
- Develop and review treatment plans, providing assistance to case managers as needed to ensure seamless client care.
- Collaborate with jail health/behavioral health staff on referrals, discharges, and discharge plans, contacting NaphCare for mental health treatment updates before participant release.
- Provide case manager coordination of treatment planning and services, ensuring timely access to necessary resources.
- Offer individual, group, and family therapy sessions to address mental health needs and/or substance abuse disorders as required.
- Supervise case managers in daily tasks, appointment follow-ups, caseload reviews, and other responsibilities related to mental health treatment of participants.
- Provide training to direct care staff on implementing treatment plans and behavior modification techniques as needed.
- Facilitate weekly team meetings for client updates, referrals, admissions/intake processes, and required documentation receipt to ensure smooth transitions into treatment.
- Attend MMC team meetings, trainings, court hearings, and participate in quarterly reports submission to River Edge.
- Manage crises involving participants, connecting them to outside community services such as therapy sessions, psychiatrist appointments, parenting classes, anger management classes, etc.
- Submit regular reports to River Edge, updating Casework client notes daily and reviewing CM case notes submitted to Casework.
- Maintain working knowledge of treatment agencies and programs to provide referral resources to clients.
- Offer clinical consultation to referral resources, mentors, family members, and others supporting participants in recovery.
- A Master's degree in a social service field (Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Human Services) or related field, such as counseling.
- Fully licensed in LAPC, LMSW, LAMFT, LMFT, LPC, LCSW) or Associate-level licensure in one of the following: LAPC, LMSW, LAMFT, LMFT, LPC, LCSW
- At least one year of experience working with individuals experiencing substance use, homelessness, involvement with the judicial system, and mental and behavioral health concerns.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software and basic functions like composing business forms, letters, and spreadsheets.
- A valid GA driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- All applicants must pass a satisfactory background clearance and pre-employment drug test.
- Provide two professional reference statements from former employers only.
- Empathy: Demonstrate empathy towards clients and team members, understanding their perspectives and providing support in challenging situations.
- Communication: Effective communication skills to convey information, listen actively, and foster open dialogue within the team and with clients.
- Clinical Supervision: Proficiency in providing clinical supervision, guiding case conceptualization, treatment planning, and interventions while adhering to ethical and legal standards.
- Crisis Intervention: Ability to effectively manage crises, assessing risk, de-escalating conflicts, and implementing appropriate intervention strategies for client and staff safety.
- Program Development and Evaluation: Experience in developing and evaluating mental health programs and services, designing outcome measures, collecting and analyzing data, and making evidence-based recommendations for improvement.
The estimated annual salary for this position is $60,000-$80,000 based on location and industry standards.
