Mental Health Support Specialist

Salary Range:$45,000 - $60,000 per year
Job Summary:
The Mental Health Support Specialist provides services to individuals with serious mental illness. This includes providing group and individual training on various topics such as social skills, coping skills, and self-management. The specialist also coordinates services and links individuals to community resources that meet their needs, preventing and managing crises as necessary.
In this role, you will provide support in various community settings, including clients' homes, workplaces, schools, or shelters. As a community-based position, this role requires the use of a personal vehicle to travel throughout Fulton and DeKalb counties, with mileage reimbursement offered. While not required, prior experience in community-based work and with the SPMI (Severe and Persistent Mental Illness) population is strongly preferred.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Sciences, including Criminal Justice, Cultural Studies, Anthropology, or Sociology
- A minimum of three years of experience, with one year of experience with the SPMI and/or Addictive Disease population, preferably in a full-time status
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification or within 30 days of hire date
- Prefer candidates hold Certification in one of the following: Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS), Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), or Certified Psychosocial Rehabilitation Professional (CPRP)
