Position Overview:
The Medication Preparation Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting pharmacists with the formulation and distribution of medications. This position encompasses a variety of technical and supportive functions essential for the delivery of pharmacy services.

Working under the guidance of a licensed pharmacist, the Medication Preparation Specialist is dedicated to precise medication formulation, adhering to the established protocols and procedures outlined by the Pharmacy Department.

This role fulfills the qualifications of a certified pharmacy technician as mandated by the State Board of Pharmacy and requires a Certified Pharmacy Technician license from an accredited agency.

The specialist is committed to compliance with state and federal drug regulations as enforced by the state board of pharmacy, the drug enforcement administration, and the food and drug administration, along with other regulatory bodies.

Having achieved proficiency in job responsibilities, the Medication Preparation Specialist actively participates in training new technicians and contributes to quality enhancement initiatives.


Educational Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED is mandatory
  • Certification/Licensure: CPhT - Certified Pharmacy Technician
  • State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy certification is required
