Job Overview
The Senior Software Systems Architect engages in applying established engineering methodologies to tackle complex challenges, guiding projects from initial concept through to final design with collaborative input from the team. This role involves managing requirements, developing algorithms, and conducting design evaluations with minimal oversight. Participation in test planning and integration testing is also a key responsibility.


Key Responsibilities

  • Define requirements, design systems, conduct system-level testing, and maintain both new and existing data management solutions.
  • Evaluate the feasibility of proposed designs to ensure they meet intended functionality.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for both internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Adhere to established processes and procedures in line with a regulated operational environment.
  • Utilize standard engineering principles to address complex issues, from initial conception to final design with team collaboration.
  • Effectively collaborate within and may facilitate cross-functional teams with guidance.
  • Assist in preparing for and participating in technical reviews, organizing data, and preparing necessary documentation for assigned projects.

Management Scope
This role does not involve managing other employees and does not possess hiring, firing, or performance evaluation authority.


Qualifications
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 5-7 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree in Engineering with 1-3 years of relevant experience.


Preferred Experience

  • Experience in an Agile work environment.
  • Proven track record of leading technical teams to achieve project goals.
  • Expertise in system design and integration for software solutions related to data acquisition, device configuration, and control interfaces.
  • Familiarity with networking, web development, and APIs utilizing SOAP and REST protocols.
  • Ability to translate marketing and regulatory requirements into system designs and specifications.
  • Understanding of secure software development lifecycle and cybersecurity practices, with hands-on experience being a plus.
  • Experience in Medical Device Design and Development processes is advantageous.
  • Experience in drafting requirement documents for product development in a regulated environment is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server database architecture and design is preferred.
