Job Summary

The Seattle office of Ogletree Deakins, a premier global labor and employment law firm, is seeking a highly skilled Paralegal to join its growing team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing critical support to our attorneys in all aspects of employment-related matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth research on labor and employment laws, regulations, and court decisions to prepare legal documents and assist attorneys.
  • Independently analyze complex legal documents, statutes, and case law to summarize key points and prepare briefs, pleadings, and appeals.
  • Organize and maintain case files, calendars, and deadlines to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Perform a wide range of legal research and data compilation with minimal supervision.
  • Prepare and file pleadings with the court clerk, draft reports, correspondence, declarations, and complaints.
  • Assist attorneys in preparation for mediations, trials, and depositions, and communicate with witnesses and experts.
  • Enter billing and expense data into the firm's system in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Paralegal certification or degree from an accredited college or university.
  • 4+ years of paralegal experience, preferably in a labor/employment litigation practice.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Lexis-Nexis and WestLaw.
