Currently, we are seeking a dedicated and skilled Instrumentation Technician to support our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate as a key member of the SCADA Integration and Testing team within the Fuels Automation laboratory.
  • Design, maintain, and improve intricate control systems based on specified requirements. Conduct reviews and evaluations of automated control components to ensure compliance with design specifications and document testing outcomes.
  • Apply suitable development and design methodologies tailored to the project environment. Provide detailed insights into system design components, including hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, and the integration of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS) and Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) solutions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least ten (10) years of experience in the fields of industrial controls, instrumentation, and automation.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field such as Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline. An additional six years of experience may be considered in lieu of educational qualifications.
  • Proficiency with complex electrical and electronic systems, including System Analysis, Systems Architecture, and Test and Evaluation support.
  • Willingness to travel for short-term assignments on short notice.
  • Possession of a valid US passport for potential international travel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Wonderware/AVEVA.
  • Experience in SCADA programming and implementation.
  • Proficient in software development, including Structured Text, SQL, and C Sharp.
  • Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) programming.
  • Familiarity with industrial controls in water/wastewater treatment facilities.
  • Understanding of fire alarm control systems.
  • Experience with industrial controls in petroleum and chemical plants.
  • Knowledge of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
  • Familiarity with Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and Safety Integrity Levels (SIL).

Security Clearance Requirements: Active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to remain stationary for 50% of the time.
  • Occasionally move around the office to access files and equipment.
  • Operate a computer and other office machinery.
  • Position oneself to maintain computers in the lab, including accessing under desks.
  • Frequently communicate with colleagues and management, which may involve delivering presentations and exchanging information accurately.
