Position Summary

Benjamin Moore & Co., a Berkshire Hathaway company, is a leading manufacturer of innovative, high-quality coatings for the architectural and industrial maintenance markets. We are currently seeking a Junior Formulation Scientist to join our Exterior Architectural Coatings formulation team. In this capacity, you will collaborate with the Exterior formulation team to enhance existing products and innovate new solutions. This entry-level role requires a solid technical foundation, a strong desire to learn, problem-solving abilities, and a willingness to think creatively. The position offers numerous opportunities for advancement into higher technical or managerial roles.

The Junior Formulation Scientist position is an exciting opportunity to join a team that promotes and recognizes innovation. We are looking for motivated individuals who will contribute to the development of world-class products and enhance the skill set of our successful Exterior formulation team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the creation of new products in collaboration with Quality, Marketing, and Manufacturing teams.
  • Document and share observations and insights.
  • Independently execute assigned tasks.
  • Build knowledge of formulation tools, testing methods, and production processes.
  • Support the resolution of quality, procurement, and manufacturing challenges.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and cleanliness.
  • Engage in learning and capability-building initiatives in product development.
  • Pursue professional development through continuous education.
  • Adhere to all laboratory safety and cleanliness protocols.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field; 0-3 years of experience in a laboratory environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and cross-functional team management skills.
  • Exhibits and fosters teamwork within and outside the laboratory.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational abilities.
  • Possesses strong analytical problem-solving skills for timely and accurate decision-making.
  • Maintains clear and concise records.
