Job Summary

Summary: Assist the Executive Chef in preparing and cooking food, coordinate kitchen activities, and supervise food-service associates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Cook and prepare food according to approved recipes and production standards, ensuring timely completion of production orders.
  • Supervise hourly food-service associates, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, and recommending disciplinary action as needed.
  • Store food in designated areas, adhering to corporate, state, and federal food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Maintain proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures.
  • Ensure sanitation of equipment, supplies, and utensils, and clean workstations thoroughly before leaving the area.
  • Interact with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner, relaying relevant information to the supervisor.
  • Demonstrate a complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explain them to associates and customers.
  • Monitor inventory and deliveries of product and supplies, tracking production, consumption, and waste, and inform the supervisor when supplies or product are low.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
