Position Overview

The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids stands as a premier global advocacy organization dedicated to diminishing tobacco consumption worldwide through the enactment and enforcement of effective public health policies. Our collaborative efforts with local partners have led to transformative changes in tobacco control legislation across over 60 nations. We empower local advocates to champion impactful public health initiatives while assisting governments and civil societies in safeguarding tobacco control laws and achieving legal victories.

Tobacco use remains the foremost preventable cause of mortality, claiming over 8 million lives globally each year.

The Operations Support Associate will play a crucial role within the International Communications Team. This position is designed to enhance the productivity of our vibrant network of communicators based in Washington, D.C., and across the globe, thereby advancing our mission to implement robust communication strategies in key countries. The Associate will also provide support to selected regional and country teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Efficiently process and monitor a high volume of consultant and vendor invoices, payments, and contracts.
  2. Reconcile monthly credit card statements.
  3. Prepare bank deposits, general ledger entries, and financial statements.
  4. Compile expense reports using the Concur System and assist in the management of travel expenses.
  5. Coordinate all logistical elements for international and D.C.-based meetings, events, and conferences, including travel arrangements, venue selection, catering, and participant invitations.
  6. Assist the International Communications Team and selected regional teams with calendar management and meeting coordination.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required, along with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in operations or accounting.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Capability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Experience in international settings and cross-cultural environments is advantageous.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, with advanced Excel skills preferred.
  • Familiarity with Raisers Edge and SAP Concur Expense Management System is preferred.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
