Position Overview

SGI Global, LLC is looking for a dedicated CWMD Watch Officer to enhance the efforts of the Department of Homeland Security's Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Office (CWMD) and its Watch Operations. This role is pivotal in coordinating, disseminating, and analyzing critical operational intelligence concerning chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear (CBRN), and medical incidents globally.

Key Responsibilities
  • The Watch Officer will oversee all functions related to the CWMD Watch desk.
  • They will gather intelligence, analyze data, and produce comprehensive reports.
  • Utilizing the CWMD Emergency Notification System, the Watch Officer will alert and inform CWMD personnel about predefined scenarios in line with established protocols.
  • Monitoring classified systems continuously, the Watch Officer will review information pertinent to CBRN and medical incidents.
  • They will ensure situational awareness and coordination of global events affecting the CBRN and medical mission area, preparing and disseminating operational analytic products to inform CWMD leadership.
  • The Watch Officer will maintain a thorough understanding of all-source information capabilities relevant to CBRN and medical operations.
  • They will be required to grasp homeland security operational tradecraft and the analytical aspects of CBRN and medical risks to the homeland, producing high-quality operational analysis.
  • Conducting license checks for alarms, the Watch Officer will present findings during alarm events.
  • They will document and maintain records of alarms and perform NRC license checks as necessary.
  • Collaboration with Federal Interagency partners, DHS Components, and CWMD LNOs will be essential.
Qualifications
  • An Associate's degree in a relevant field such as Homeland Security, health, or CBRN.
  • A minimum of four years of relevant experience, including military or law enforcement operational or intelligence roles.
  • Ability to obtain DHS Suitability and possession of a TS/SCI clearance is required.
  • Certification in accordance with the Desk Officer Certification Program must be achieved within two months of employment.
