About the Opportunity

Pacific University is seeking a visionary leader to serve as the Director of the School of Audiology. This is a full-time administrative position on a twelve-month contract.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative leadership for the School of Audiology and report directly to the Executive Dean & Vice Provost of the College of Health Professions.
  • Lead the faculty in a collaborative endeavor related to all aspects of the academic program for the school, including faculty recruitment and development, maintenance of academic standards, curriculum development, budgetary oversight, research and scholarship, external relations, and maintenance of accreditation.
  • Oversee the Pacific EARClinic, the onsite audiology clinic on the Hillsboro Campus.
  • Develop and maintain a supportive infrastructure congruent with the School, College, and University's Mission and Values.
  • Assure adherence, currency, and innovation to established academic standards, guidelines, policies, and accreditation standards.
  • Effectively manage allocated Board-approved funds.
  • Lead the faculty in long-range planning, development, implementation, and strengthening of the curriculum.
  • Mentor faculty leadership in teaching, scholarship, and service, in accordance with the University Faculty and Governance Handbook and the profession.
  • Advocate for and support staff development.
  • Recruit and retain human resources to meet strategic goals and outcomes of the program.
  • Collaborate with College of Health Professions Deans and Directors to support Pacific University's strategic plan.
  • Oversee the welfare, academic progress, and professional development of all students in the school.
  • Continuously seek and complete scholarly and professional development.
  • Market the School and the audiology profession at large.
  • Nurture partnerships with the community and industry to financially support program initiatives and students.
  • Advocate for institutional support to meet strategic goals and outcomes for the school.
  • Represent the School in the College's and University's administrative structure.
  • Represent the School on local, state, and national audiology associations and organizations as well as the general professional community.
  • Demonstrate excellence and innovation in classroom, clinical, and laboratory instruction and teaching within appropriate school and CHP courses.
  • Continuing to innovate interprofessional education across the college and supporting the efforts of faculty, staff, and students to enhance interprofessional collaboration across didactic and clinical curricula.

Qualifications

  • A doctoral degree with a major emphasis in audiology, hearing science, or a related field (e.g., PhD, AuD, or EdD).
  • Meet eligibility requirements to be licensed in Oregon as an Audiologist (OAR).
  • Demonstrated success in an academic setting to include administration, budget management, and teaching.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and direct faculty, staff, and students utilizing collaboration, consensus building, and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated record of scholarship commensurate with the rank of Associate or Full Professor with tenure.
