Child Welfare District Program Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Child Welfare District Program Manager to join our team at the State of Oregon. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Oregon's most vulnerable children and families.
As a Child Welfare District Program Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Child Welfare District, ensuring that it aligns with the goals and objectives of the Child Welfare Division. You will collaborate with community organizations, schools, and other agencies to establish partnerships and initiatives that promote the well-being and safety of children and families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide programmatic oversight informed by the ODHS Director's Office, Child Welfare Division, and Self-Sufficiency Division.
- Operationalize executive leadership vision, utilize agency dashboards, perform continuous quality improvement practices, enhance and cultivate Child Welfare practice to reach agency and leadership goals and objectives.
- Lead initiatives to foster connections among families, enhancing the well-being and stability of children in the district.
- Collaborate closely with the Judiciary to ensure the effective implementation of Child Welfare programs within the district.
- Collaborate with the legal community to develop strategies for improving efficiencies in the overall practice of child welfare within their portfolio.
Requirements:
- Six years of supervision, management, or progressively related experience; OR three years of related experience and a bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Experience in Child Welfare Programs or Child Safety Programs, Social Service Programs, and Parent-Child Services.
- Experience applying the Indian Child Welfare Act and Oregon Indian Child Welfare provisions in collaboration with Tribal Affairs and Social Service Programs.
- Experience engaging and working with Tribes, Urban Indian communities, community partners, and organizations.
Working Conditions:
- You will follow a professional work week, with varying hours on a daily and weekly basis to accommodate service requirements.
- You will be managing 24-hour service delivery operations, which include crisis and after-hours work.
- Expect to be part of a rotating on-call schedule, which may include evenings or weekend shifts.
- Your work will involve in-person interactions, both within the office and out in the community.
- Travel will be necessary, including within the district and state, with occasional out-of-state trips for meetings, trainings, conferences, or committee work.
