Job Title: Nurse-Midwifery Program Director

George Fox University's College of Nursing is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Nurse-Midwifery Program Director to lead the development and implementation of our Doctor of Nursing Practice Nurse-Midwifery program. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in midwifery education, experience in program administration, and a passion for serving vulnerable populations and underserved communities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the Nurse-Midwifery program curriculum, ensuring alignment with ACME, AACN Essentials, and OSBN requirements.
  • Provide leadership and oversight of all aspects of the educational program, including administration, didactic and clinical curriculum, faculty recruitment and development, national accreditation, compliance with state regulations, and evaluation.
  • Recruit, orient, mentor, and evaluate nursing faculty, staff, and other contributors to the nursing education program.
  • Develop and monitor the program budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and sustainability.
  • Teach didactic and clinical courses as able, including oversight of DNP projects.
  • Provide direct patient care and precept nurse-midwifery students, as able.
  • Partner with the team to ensure adequate affiliation agreements/contracts for off-campus clinical sites as well as off-campus clinical coordinators and preceptors.
  • Ensure the spiritual vitality and Christian centrality of the nursing program.
  • Communicate effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect, and customer service.
Requirements:
  • An active unencumbered Oregon APRN license.
  • Current national AMCB certification.
  • An earned doctoral degree (DNP, PhD, EdD) from an accredited institution of higher education.
  • Experience in teaching and learning principles for adult education, including curriculum development and administration.
  • Current knowledge of CNM practice and related professional issues.
  • Current knowledge of institutional and programmatic accreditation requirements for nurse-midwifery educational programs.
  • Minimum five years of full-time equivalent CNM clinical experience.
  • Must demonstrate excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work full-time in person.
  • A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and express their Christian testimony in a church. In addition, employees agree to live in agreement with the Community Lifestyle Statement and affirm the theological commitments expressed in the Statement of Faith.
Preferred Attributes:
  • Simulation experience in a high-fidelity lab.
Salary and Rank:
  • Appointment at the Assistant Professor level is anticipated, though candidates with significant teaching experience at previous institutions may be considered for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor. Salary and benefits are competitive with comparable institutions.
