Job Title: Survey Team Lead

VHB is seeking a seasoned Survey Team Lead to manage a team of surveyors and technicians in conducting geomatics surveys for various projects in Maine.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will oversee field operations, ensuring timely completion of projects within budget and schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage a team of geomatics/survey crew members
  • Develop workflow plans to complete various types of geomatics projects
  • Oversee field operations, including boundary, topographic, control, construction, ALTA/NSPS, engineering, and As-Built/post construction surveys
  • Analyze and interpret public records research
  • Ensure accurate layout and measurement of land surfaces
  • Manage equipment maintenance and vehicle upkeep
  • Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate project documentation

Requirements:

  • 1+ year of experience as a geomatics land surveying crew chief or equivalent
  • High school diploma or GED required; degree in Geomatics, Survey Engineering, or Engineering preferred
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil3D, Microstation, Inroads, OpenRoads, Leica survey equipment, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
  • Valid driver's license and ability to lift up to 50 pounds
