Part-time Lecturer AY, Theatre Arts in Technical Theatre

We are seeking a highly qualified Part-time Lecturer AY, Theatre Arts in Technical Theatre to join our team at Sonoma State University. The successful candidate will teach courses in Technical Theatre, including Costumes, Design Aesthetics, Drafting/Rendering, Lighting, Scenery, Sound, Stagecraft, Stage Management, Senior Projects, and/or Technical Theatre-based General Education courses.
Responsibilities- Teach courses in Technical Theatre, including Costumes, Design Aesthetics, Drafting/Rendering, Lighting, Scenery, Sound, Stagecraft, Stage Management, Senior Projects, and/or Technical Theatre-based General Education courses.
- Design and teach courses that align with the department's curriculum and goals.
- Develop and implement assessments to evaluate student learning.
- Provide feedback to students on their performance and progress.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures.
- Master's degree in Theatre/Theatre Arts or a related field.
- At least 2-3 years of experience teaching theatre arts at the undergraduate level.
- Strong teaching and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom and in the department.
- Ph.D. in Theatre/Theatre Arts or a related field.
- Experience with curriculum development and assessment.
- Experience with teaching online or hybrid courses.
- Experience with working with students from diverse backgrounds.
