About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical Sales Representative to join our team at Algonquin Bridge. As a Technical Sales Representative, you will be responsible for promoting and selling our engineered solutions to clients across Canada and the USA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote and sell our engineered solutions to clients
  • Manage ongoing product and service requirements and monitor client base for expansion and growth
  • Develop new accounts and build relationships through active prospecting, referrals, and leads
  • Develop new opportunities and generate leads in all industries, including specification work and value engineering proposals
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with production planning to ensure timely delivery of our products to customers
  • Manage sales activities, including leads, opportunities, customer feedback, and customer resolution, in Salesforce.com
  • Assist in the development of new lead-share opportunities through existing customers to sell other value-added products and services
  • Prepare detailed quotations for our products and solutions
  • Provide engineering project management support and ensure any non-conformances are handled with a sense of urgency
  • Create winning proposals for our engineered solutions and commodity products
  • Prepare prospective meetings, demonstrations, and attend trade shows and networking events as needed
  • Perform technical presentations and seminars as required
  • Represent Algonquin Bridge on boards and industry associations
  • Carry out market trend research and competitor analysis
  • Keep up with trends to recognize new expansion opportunities and potential growth
  • Build product knowledge to enhance ability to sell successful solutions
  • Provide technical on-site assistance during the installation of our engineered solutions
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering or Civil Technology is an asset
  • Minimum of three to five years of sales experience, preferably in a similar industry
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, communication, time management, and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel as required in the USA and Canada
  • Ability to prioritize work, be flexible, and work with minimum supervision
  • Ability to meet deadlines competently and timely, often under pressure
  • Ability to present clear, concise, and credible business presentations
  • Ability to be organized, multi-task, and prioritize several projects at different stages concurrently
  • Self-starter with ability to be self-motivated and disciplined with workload
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and Customer Relationship Management software, such as Salesforce.com
  • Experience in the use of AutoCAD is an asset
