We are seeking a Senior Audit Consultant to join our Capital Markets division, which focuses on serving, introducing, and clearing Broker Dealer clients. Our Capital Markets team operates nationally and collaborates across regions as part of the firm's Financial Markets assurance service line. RSM Global stands as one of the largest assurance firms dedicated to broker dealers nationwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver timely, high-quality client service that meets or surpasses client expectations, including coordinating the auditing of all necessary financial statements, related disclosures, and other client deliverables.
  • Evaluate risks and design, as well as communicate, audit procedures to engagement teams.
  • Utilize RSM's Audit Methodology effectively.
  • Oversee multiple engagement teams and prepare end-of-engagement evaluations for staff members.
  • Assess the skillsets and capabilities of Senior Associates and Supervisors, reviewing their work products and providing performance feedback with coaching notes throughout the process.
  • Supervise Audit Seniors and Supervisors on engagement teams, facilitating fieldwork by monitoring productivity and adherence to work plan schedules for each assignment.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with clients to understand the impact of significant developments in their business and assess implications for current audit engagements.
  • Foster the development of others within the firm through facilitating training, advising on career growth, or participating in other firm initiatives.
  • Stay informed by actively reading industry publications and sharing relevant insights with clients as appropriate.
  • Proactively address client concerns and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Understand RSM's service lines and discuss potential opportunities for valuable introductions to other firm resources with client management.
  • Develop strategies to leverage external relationships with various Centers of Influence to drive business growth.
  • Manage project profitability effectively.
  • Identify and communicate accounting and auditing matters to Senior Managers and Partners.
  • Recognize opportunities for performance improvement.
  • Ensure ongoing professional development through continuous education.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments affecting GAAP and the firm’s standards and policies.
  • Willingness to travel as required, depending on client needs.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • CPA or CA Certification.
  • A minimum of 5 years of recent experience in a public accounting environment.
  • Proven experience in leading teams and mentoring associates.
  • Strong understanding of audit services, including knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and FASB or IFRS regulations.
  • A demonstrated track record of building profitable, sustainable client relationships.
  • At least 4 years of experience in a team lead or in-charge role overseeing staff on multiple engagements.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A successful history of directing and deploying staff and senior associates on multiple, simultaneous engagements.
