Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee designated areas of audit operations while serving as the Auditor-in-Charge (AIC), executing the audit strategy for various Lines of Business (LOBs).
- Drive risk-focused auditing by establishing the scope and testing procedures to assess the control environment in alignment with audit policies, evaluating issues for business impact, recommending severity ratings, drafting audit reports, and managing relationships with business partners.

- Implement audit strategies that ensure effective risk-based auditing through the definition of audit scope and programs, and timely drafting of audit reports utilizing automation and innovative methodologies.
- Act as Auditor-in-Charge (AIC) by supervising audit testing, ensuring compliance with quality standards, audit policies, and procedures.
- Evaluate impacts on business processes, controls, and strategies to offer recommendations on severity ratings and escalate overarching themes or trends based on existing business insights.
- Utilize intellectual curiosity and sound judgment to effectively influence and challenge management, enhancing the control environment and fostering continuous improvements in audit practices.
- Lead a team of associates, providing daily mentorship and guidance while cultivating an inclusive work atmosphere.
- Maintain relationships with business partners, primarily with line management, to enhance business knowledge.
- Utilize comprehensive knowledge of products, business, and technical expertise to effectively challenge management and improve the control environment.
- Assist in the preparation for regulatory examinations by developing presentation materials and delivering timely responses to inquiries.
- Leverage available data and analytical tools throughout the planning, fieldwork, and reporting phases of audit delivery.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 6 years of audit experience in areas related to capital markets, equity and equity-linked products, derivatives, front office risk management, and relevant regulations.
- At least 2 years of experience leading audits and serving in the role of auditor-in-charge.
- Experience in validating audit and regulatory issues.
- Strong influencing skills for communicating findings effectively.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Analytical thinking and audit planning experience.
- Internal audit review and issue management expertise.
- Proficient in risk management and business acumen.
- Coaching and project management skills.
- Strong relationship-building capabilities and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with automation tools and critical thinking skills.
- Experience in technical documentation.
Preferred Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related quantitative field, or an MBA.
- Professional certifications such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Financial Risk Manager (FRM), or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
- Intermediate analytical and automation skills (e.g., SQL, Alteryx, Advanced Excel, and Access).
- Experience working in large, global financial institutions, preferably banks or major brokerage firms.
- Knowledge of US equity market regulations, exchanges, execution venues, and clearing and settlement processes.
- Understanding of trading and hedging strategies, supervisory procedures, P&L attribution, risk management, operational processes, and the regulatory landscape.
