Citizens is seeking an exceptional Business Banking Lending Specialist to support the underwriting needs of our Private Bank's business loan products. This role is based in San Francisco and will focus on processing, evaluating, and completing financial analysis on business loan requests.
Key Responsibilities- Support Underwriting Needs: Ensure turnaround time requirements are met for Private Bank's product offering, verifying accuracy and completeness of loan application files, and completing due diligence.
- Financial Analysis: Proficiently use Moody's CreditLens or similar application to complete financial analysis and spreads, analyzing cash flow reports, calculating ratios, recognizing and describing trends, and identifying recurring and non-recurring sources of cash flow and borrowers' ability to debt service.
- Cultivate Relationships: Develop strong and positive working relationships with partners, including Business Bankers and Relationship Managers, Preferred Bankers, Loan Committee, Loan Servicing, Legal (internal and external), etc.
- Quality Credit: Ensure quality credit and avert any potential signs of default throughout the underwriting process and loan life cycle, including ongoing servicing of the portfolio and loan modifications.
- Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in continuous improvements by generating suggestions and participating in problem-solving activities.
- Commercial Credit Analysis Experience: 5+ years of commercial credit analysis experience across a variety of industries, including professional services, non-profit organizations, and private equity/venture capital.
- Education: BA/BS Degree required, with concentration in business, finance, and/or accounting preferred.
- Skills: Strong decision-making, interpersonal, and communication skills, including the ability to clearly understand complex concepts. Excellent organizational and time-management skills, and attention to detail.
- Technical Skills: Advanced familiarity with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and experience with Moody's CreditLens is a plus.
