POSITION SUMMARY
The Collections Research Coordinator is an integral member of the curatorial team, responsible for conducting comprehensive research and providing organizational support for the museum's collections and exhibitions.

This role is essential for the analysis and cataloging of the museum's artifacts, contributing to specific curatorial projects, including exhibitions and acquisitions.

Under the guidance of the Curatorial department, the Collections Research Coordinator will engage in both independent and collaborative efforts with museum staff, ensuring the smooth operation of curatorial activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct thorough research for exhibitions and curatorial projects related to the museum's collections.
- Exercise independent judgment while performing archival research across various repositories.
- Utilize expertise in art history to provide insights on object provenance, cultural context, and material analysis.
- Compile and organize research files to support curatorial recommendations.
- Draft informative texts on collection items for various purposes, including educational materials and exhibition catalogs.
- Maintain accurate records in The Museum System (TMS) database, ensuring compliance with established standards.
- Collaborate with archivists, scholars, and artists to enhance research on specific works and artists.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in history, art history, or a related field is required; Ph.D. preferred.
- A minimum of three years of experience in a museum or arts institution context is essential.
