Position Overview:
The Senior Clinical Research Coordinator will take the lead on a designated portfolio of research initiatives, independently managing the logistics and processes necessary for conducting research within the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and implement the logistical components of clinical research projects to meet project goals, including planning, resource allocation, and developing systems to ensure compliance with protocols and patient safety.
- Manage administrative tasks for research studies, such as scheduling patient visits, coordinating procedures and laboratory work, and maintaining essential documentation including consent forms and case report forms.
- Screen and recruit potential participants, providing clear explanations of trial concepts and facilitating the informed consent process.
- Ensure accurate and timely data collection, documentation, and reporting, addressing any queries from sponsors or regulatory bodies.
- Coordinate institutional and pharmaceutical audits, facilitating third-party monitoring and implementing necessary corrective actions.
- Compile and present study reports, including protocol activity, enrollment data, and workload metrics during regular research team meetings.
- Submit reports on adverse events and protocol deviations in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
- Identify opportunities for quality improvement and collaborate with team members to develop actionable plans.
- Develop strategies to enhance participant enrollment and improve research efficiency.
- Assist in the preparation of grant proposals, publications, and presentations.
- Support budget development for research projects, distinguishing between routine and research-related care.
- Participate in relevant meetings, workshops, and training sessions to further enhance research capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Associate Degree or College Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in clinical research coordination or a related field is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
- Certification in Clinical Research (SoCRA or ACRP) is preferred.
