Position Summary:

Swingtech is actively seeking to fill the role of an Accountant. Below are the responsibilities and qualifications associated with this position:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance on federal accounting standards, requirements, and the impacts of new legislation or program initiatives.
  • Manage and operate comprehensive financial management and reporting systems to ensure adherence to requirements such as thorough cost accounting and integrated financial management.
  • Evaluate, review, and propose improvements for existing financial management systems to enhance performance and compliance.
  • Supervise the preparation of financial statements and reports, including updates on financial and contractual statuses, general ledger accounts, quarterly and annual reports, and accounts receivable.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records that reflect the organization’s financial condition.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures throughout the agency to guarantee consistency and compliance with federal regulations.
  • Identify changes in regulations, accounting practices, and operational challenges, providing advice on necessary adjustments for effective fund management and precise financial reporting.
  • Recognize key policy issues and priorities, design analytical methodologies, assess alternative strategies, and present definitive recommendations to senior management.

Eligibility & Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in federal accounting and financial management.
  • Certification as a Government Financial Manager (CGFM) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven technical accounting knowledge and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and capability to effectively resolve financial management challenges.
  • A business-related four-year degree (B.S. or B.A. in Accounting preferred) and proficiency in:
  • Excel (including macros & pivot tables).

This position requires a Secret clearance.
