Chief Financial Officer (CFO) - Healthcare Environment

As a vital member of the executive leadership team, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will engage in the financial and operational decision-making processes essential for achieving the organization's mission while staying informed about healthcare developments that may influence the organization's success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the financial functions of the healthcare facility, including accounting, budgeting, audits, taxation, and other financial planning activities, while managing department heads.
  • Collaborate with management to formulate and execute policies, procedures, and both short- and long-term objectives and plans.
  • Provide financial guidance to hospital leaders, fostering ownership of objectives and encouraging active involvement in decisions affecting the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Offer financial insights in the development of new services aimed at generating additional profitable revenue streams.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities by analyzing data and working with the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Nursing Officer to eliminate unnecessary expenses.
  • Evaluate areas for organizational performance improvement initiatives.
  • Represent the organization in meetings with medical staff, board members, and relevant community stakeholders.
  • Participate in operational reviews and corporate meetings as required.

The CFO will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related business field with at least 12 credit hours in Accounting from an accredited institution is required.
  • A Master's degree is preferred.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive managerial experience in financial/accounting roles within an acute care setting is required.
  • Experience as a CFO in a for-profit acute care hospital is highly desirable.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with staff and the community.
  • Capacity to handle confidential information regarding personal, financial, or medical matters.

Licenses / Certifications:

  • CPA certification is preferred.
