After School Program Educator

Reports to the Extended Learning Opportunity Program Director.
Qualifications
Experience:
A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a youth development organization, planning and overseeing activities tailored to the developmental needs of young individuals, or equivalent experience.
Education/Certifications:
CPR/First Aid certification
High school diploma or equivalent
AA degree or BA degree (minimum of 48 units) or
Pass the ETS ParaPro Assessment (passing score= 460) or
Pass the CBEST Exams
Required Knowledge/Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to effectively manage youth from various backgrounds, including addressing discipline issues.
Proven experience working with young people, parents, and community stakeholders.
Proficient in Google Suite applications (Google Classroom, Hangout, Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.)
Unwavering integrity and commitment to the mission and values of KIPP Public Schools Northern California.
Key Responsibilities
1. Implement after school activities within designated core program areas, including academic support, homework assistance, fitness/recreation, arts, and enrichment activities.
2. Assist in documenting program schedules, lesson plans, curriculum, youth participation, and outcomes.
3. Utilize positive behavior and classroom management techniques with students.
4. Accurately track student attendance (sign-in/sign-out sheets) on a daily basis.
5. Support after school program registration, customer service, and community outreach.
6. Maintain high standards of health and safety to ensure the well-being of students, staff, and others.
7. Participate in all after school activities, including preparation, set-up, take-down, and clean-up to ensure facility cleanliness.
8. Communicate and collaborate effectively with students, staff, parents, school personnel, and community partners.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to navigate school and classroom environments. Capability to access and utilize technology. Occasional lifting/carrying of equipment weighing 1-35 lbs.
Physical agility to perform various tasks effectively, which may include frequent kneeling, walking, pushing/pulling, squatting, twisting, turning, bending, stooping, and reaching overhead.
Mental Requirements:
Ability to manage stress from deadlines and standard work expectations, analyze problems and generate solutions, work with interruptions, maintain concentration for extended periods, read, calculate, perform routine math tasks, and memorize and recall information.
Environmental Conditions:
Work in a school and in-person classroom environment subject to frequent interruptions and distractions. Adhere to KIPP's health and safety guidelines as recommended by health authorities.
Classification and Schedule:
Part-time, non-exempt school-based position aligned with the school calendar. Approximately 20 hours/week, Monday to Friday, 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM.
