Job Summary:

The Senior Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for developing reporting and analytic solutions for the company by collaborating with business stakeholders, documenting requirements, identifying or building appropriate data sources, developing dashboards and reports, and delivering them to relevant stakeholders.

This involves designing and writing new or modifying existing reports and analytics to meet the data and information needs of end users.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop BI dashboards, reports, and analytic solutions for the enterprise that provide front-line teams, management, support functions, and executive leadership with the information and insight they need to make informed decisions.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with business users, support teams, and other stakeholders to understand business needs, processes, or problems.
  • Envision, design, develop, and deploy analytic reports and dashboards.
  • Work with business users to gather requirements, troubleshoot report issues, and drive resolutions towards completion.
  • Perform thorough testing and validation of reports, dashboards, and overall data quality in partnership with business users.
  • User administration and access management for new and current users in the BI Reporting environments.
  • Research and troubleshoot user-reported issues and incidents related to the BI reporting environment, including performance, data discrepancies, access issues, etc.
  • Perform technical due diligence on BI reporting tools by assessing usage patterns and performance anomalies.
  • Maintain all appropriate training and continuing education requirements for both internal programs and external licenses and certifications.
  • Be a self-starter, take initiative to learn new things, and research solutions without prompting.
  • Foster and maintain good relationships with colleagues to meet expected customer service levels.
  • Develop and maintain positive, productive, and professional relationships with key business users to meet expected customer service levels.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience as a BI Developer focused or in a similar role.
  • 3+ years leading a distributed team.

Skills:

  • Power BI, Power Query, DAX, Tableau, Qlik, Snowflake, Snow SQL, SQL.
  • Expertise in designing intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces for BI dashboards.
  • Demonstrated experience in optimizing the visual impact of BI tools to enhance decision-making and user engagement.
  • Advanced level of SQL programming for data analysis, performance tuning, and optimization.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling principles.
  • Proven ability to develop analytics in a growing and maturing Enterprise Data Warehouse.
  • Experience in Agile methodology.
  • Familiarity with various Data Management technologies, including Data Catalog and Data Quality.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think analytically.
  • Mentoring and guiding junior developers, fostering their growth and development within the team, particularly in the areas of UI/UX design for BI tools.
