**Qualifications**: Applicants must hold an MD and be board-eligible or board-certified. Completion of a fellowship in Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery is essential, with a specific focus on hip preservation and a proven record of academic contributions.

**Role Overview**: The Pediatric Orthopaedic Division is currently staffed by a team of two surgeons, a non-operative orthopaedist, and a physician assistant dedicated to patient care. The objective of this position is to establish a comprehensive hip preservation practice catering to patients from infancy through adulthood, addressing conditions such as developmental hip dysplasia, Perthes disease, and slipped capital femoral epiphysis. The selected candidate will collaborate with specialists in hip arthroscopy to enhance services for adolescents and young adults, as well as coordinate with the adult reconstruction division for hip replacement cases.

**Clinical Environment**: The successful candidate will join a team of orthopaedic faculty who participate in emergency orthopaedic call coverage at a leading trauma center. They will also be involved in the care of pediatric orthopaedic patients. The role includes patient consultations at a state-of-the-art orthopaedic center, which encompasses all adult orthopaedic subspecialties, physical therapy, outpatient surgical facilities, and comprehensive support services.

**Care Model**: The integrated care model at the Commonwealth of Virginia provides an ideal setting for managing hip pathology across various age groups, ensuring continuity of care from inpatient to outpatient settings.

**Minimum Requirements**:
- **Education**: MD with board eligibility or certification, alongside fellowship training in Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery with a focus on hip preservation.
- **Experience**: Proven clinical expertise and the ability to engage in meaningful scientific or clinical research.
- **Licensure**: Candidates must be licensed to practice medicine in Virginia and meet board eligibility or certification standards.
