CHIEF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY OFFICER JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Chief Information Technology Officer will report directly to the Vice President of Operations and play a pivotal role within the executive leadership team. This position is tasked with managing the technological framework of the organization, ensuring that IT initiatives are in sync with the company’s strategic objectives. The Chief Information Technology Officer will ensure the dependability, security, and efficiency of our technology systems, which are essential for supporting the organization’s mission of delivering outstanding patient care and optimizing distribution processes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Planning and Leadership

- Formulate and execute IT strategies that resonate with the company’s vision.

- Collaborate with senior management to fully comprehend and fulfill all reporting and regulatory obligations mandated by our governing and accreditation bodies.

- Establish standard operating procedures based on industry best practices; ensure that documented protocols, guidelines, and training are accessible to all end-users.

- Partner with leadership on new initiatives, projects, and critical business decisions to ensure thorough evaluations of existing systems, networks, and infrastructure, supporting operational teams in executing initiatives.

2. IT Operations Management

- Supervise the daily operations of the IT department, ensuring optimal system performance and reliability.

- Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including networks, hardware, software, and security systems.

- Guarantee timely and effective delivery of IT services and support across all departments.

- Manage the onboarding and offboarding processes of employees from a security perspective.

- Foster clear and effective communication through emails, meetings, and interdepartmental collaboration.

- Ensure standardization and reliability of organizational systems.

3. Vendor and Business Systems Management

- Facilitate seamless integration of third-party services with the organization’s existing IT framework, along with oversight of system applications and software utilized by both organizations.

- Work with internal and external personnel to support system integrations, upgrades, ongoing maintenance, and troubleshooting.

- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of third-party services regularly.

- Conduct periodic audits and assessments to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

- Address and resolve any performance issues or service disruptions promptly.

- Maintain strong relationships with third-party managed service providers (MSPs) and cybersecurity vendors to align their services with the company’s IT strategies and objectives.

4. Leadership and Development

- Lead, mentor, and cultivate a team of IT professionals, promoting a collaborative and productive work environment.

- Oversee recruitment, training, and performance evaluations of IT personnel.

- Encourage ongoing professional development and continuous learning within the team.

5. Security and Compliance

- Ensure the organization’s IT systems are secure and adhere to relevant regulations and standards.

- Collaborate with the Information Security Team to devise and implement comprehensive security strategies to safeguard data and IT infrastructure from cyber threats.

- Oversee data protection and disaster recovery plans.

- Maintain thorough documentation of security measures and compliance protocols.

6. Budget Management

- Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and efficient resource utilization.

- Negotiate and manage contracts with IT vendors and service providers.

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

- 8+ years of experience in IT planning or strategy, data management, operations, and/or IT-related experience.

- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a leadership capacity.

- Valid state driver’s license and reliable transportation for inter-facility travel.

- 24/7 IT support to ensure onsite coverage and minimal downtime of essential systems and equipment.

- Proficiency with IT infrastructure, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies.

- Expertise in Microsoft Office 365 applications, Windows Server, Azure, Intune, etc.

- Knowledge of local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) administration.

- Strong analytical skills to address complex challenges and devise innovative solutions.

- Excellent written, verbal, and nonverbal communication skills to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

- A master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

- Experience in a leadership role within IT, preferably at the Director level or higher.

Physical Demands:

- This role is a remote/hybrid position.

- Must be able to lift and carry 20 pounds.

- Regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to stand, walk, and use hands or fingers to handle or feel.

- Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Language Skills:

- Ability to read and analyze system application manuals, basic financial reports, and legal documents.

Mathematical Skills:

- Ability to solve simple math problems and analyze numbers as they relate to necessary job functions.

Reasoning Ability:

- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
