JOB OVERVIEW

The individual in this role is accountable for fostering, promoting, and upholding a secure environment within the community. Responds to requests for assistance as directed by dispatch. Investigates various incidents and inquiries. Aligns with the organization's mission, values, and service expectations. Completes required training hours as per policy.

Full-Time Position

Shift: 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM

Work Schedule: Pitman (2/3/2)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Safety and Surveillance - conducts patrols and monitors activities within a designated area. Investigates suspicious activities and unusual circumstances.
  • Enforces organizational policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Performs Emergency Medical Technician duties as required.
  • Inspects facilities and corridors for potential criminal activities, focusing on crime prevention and personal safety.
  • Reports ongoing crimes, civil disturbances, and other unlawful activities to dispatch or local law enforcement.
  • Responds to all public safety requests, including medical emergencies.
  • Interviews suspects, victims, and witnesses to gather statements. Collects evidence and may appear in court as necessary.
  • Implements traffic regulations and assists in traffic management.
  • Responds to after-hours maintenance requests for repairs and assistance.
  • May serve as dispatcher when required.
  • Adheres to all safety protocols and standards.
  • Handles stressful situations effectively and maintains positive relationships with colleagues and community members.
  • Upholds acceptable standards of workplace behavior.
The responsibilities outlined above represent the core duties of the position. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor based on operational needs. The incumbent is expected to fulfill all assigned duties.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
  • A high school diploma or GED is typically required.
Licenses/Certifications:
  • Missouri State EMT-B Certification is mandatory.
  • Missouri Class E driver's license or equivalent is necessary.
  • CPR Certification is essential.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Basic keyboarding skills are required.
  • Must maintain continuing education hours as required by current EMT and CPR certifications.
  • Experience in investigating incidents and conflicts is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, operating instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence effectively.
  • Ability to present information clearly in one-on-one and small group settings.
  • Ability to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Work occurs in both indoor and outdoor environments.
  • All associates may be called upon to assist other departments during emergency situations.

  • May require stooping, bending, kneeling, crawling, and reaching.
  • Standing: Remaining upright for extended periods.
  • Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, especially over long distances.
  • May involve pushing, pulling, and lifting with regular or repetitive motion.
  • May require fine motor skills for tasks such as typing and grasping.
  • Effective communication is essential for conveying detailed instructions.
  • Hearing: Ability to perceive sounds at normal speaking levels and receive detailed information through oral communication.
  • Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
