Position Overview:

The State of Montana is seeking a dedicated professional to oversee compliance within the School Nutrition Program, ensuring that approximately 260 sponsors and 100 Summer Food Service Program sponsors adhere to established guidelines through thorough Administrative and Procurement Reviews. This role leverages expertise in nutrition and knowledge of USDA Child Nutrition Program regulations to support school districts in meeting program requirements, ultimately aiding in the academic and physical development of students across Montana.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews to ensure program compliance.
  • Provide nutritional guidance and support to school districts.
  • Analyze data from various sources to inform program effectiveness.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with stakeholders, including school officials and food service representatives.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • In-depth understanding of nutrition, food service management, and related regulations.
  • Proficiency in food safety, sanitation, and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to interpret and apply federal and state laws related to nutrition programs.
  • Strong analytical skills for data evaluation and program assessment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in food and nutrition, dietetics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience in nutrition or food management.
  • Preferred qualifications include registered dietitian status or experience with federal nutrition programs.
