Location: McKinney, TX

Schedule: Evening shifts (4 days, 10 hours each)

Compensation: $19 - $27 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for:

  • Preparing surgical rooms and organizing instruments, equipment, treatment trays, and supplies for designated departments.
  • Cleaning and decontaminating instruments, containers, and patient equipment using appropriate detergents and disinfectants in accordance with regulatory standards and internal protocols.
  • Operating both semi-automatic and automatic sterilization equipment and washers.
  • Managing inventory by ordering, replenishing, and distributing instruments, reusable medical equipment, and medical supplies for general and surgical use.
  • Maintaining accurate inventory records and files.
  • Ensuring adherence to safety, environmental, manufacturer, and infection control standards.
  • Participating in training sessions for staff.
Qualifications:

Essential Certifications: Candidates must possess one of the following certifications:

  • Certified Board Sterile Processing & Distribution Technician (CBSPD)
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST)
  • Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT)
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)

Education & Experience: A High School Diploma or GED is required, along with a minimum of one year of relevant experience.

  • Knowledge of sterilization methods and procedures for medical equipment and instruments.
  • Familiarity with basic medical terminology.
  • Strong relational and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients and staff.
  • Commitment to complying with safety, environmental, manufacturer, and infection control practices.
